NOTE:WinFit was developed on a Win95 platform. It should run on 16bit-Windows either (Win3.1 and WfW) but we had no opportunity to test this!

| The program crashes whenever I loaded a difractogram | Make sure that you selected the proper diffractogram file format. If the problem persists, mail the file to us. |
| the program crashes whenever a dialog box is about to open | make sure that you have a file called "bwcc.dll" somewhere on your system. If not, download it from the Erlangen software page and install it into your "windows/system/" directory. |
| the program is exceedingly slow, the graphics are odd or the program crashes at all | if you have a 386 SX or 486 SX or lower, you need a math. coprocessor! |
| WinFit and ATI Win95-Driver: | Older versions of the ATI graphics adapter driver for Win95 report wrong mouse coordinates. That has a catastrophous effect on WinFit! Be sure to have the newest driver possible. You can download them from ATI . |
| German menu entry, warning or error message, spelling or translation error | please report it and include a sample part of the text |
| graphics within dialog boxes are scaled wrongly and placed somewhere on the screen | this is a problem of screen resolution and system font size ("large fonts", "small fonts") please report it and include graphics resolution and system font size if possible; please also include the title of the dialog |
| most dialog boxes are too large to fit into the screen | WinTek is written on machines that use a 1024*768 pixels graphics adapter. However the dialogs should fit 800*600 and even 640*480 (not recommended!) screens. You probably have to play with the size of the "system font". See your Windows or graphics driver manual! |
| after copying graphics to CorelDraw the difractogram is not complete or missing at all | Corel limits the number of nodes a polyline can have. Sorry! |
| after copying graphics to WordPerfect an empty box appears | have a look at the clipboard. If the graphic looks okay there, ask WP or Novell or who currently owns the corp.
if also the clipboard looks odd, please report the error. |
